Bean
Big & beautiful Bean is a 9 month old giant breed mixed with pure sweetness! She will win you over with her soulful eyes and gentle demeanour. She gives great hugs and would love nothing more than to cuddle at the end of a long day.
Bean is house and kennel trained and at the perfect age when she’s starting to grow out of her puppy behaviours. She sleeps 7 hours straight at night and can be encouraged to go back to bed for the low low price of a snuggle.
She knows “sit” “touch” and “down” and is learning more everyday! She’s food-motivated and eager to please.
Bean, like most adolescent dogs needs a strong leader, firm boundaries and guidance.
She has been thriving with routine, positive reinforcement and gentle correction.
She is walking well on a leash, but sometimes pulls. This is easily remedied with a front clip harness.
She is a tall girlie who’s just figuring out her legs which makes for hilarious antics, adorable zoomies and sometimes stepping on your toes (oops)! She can also rest her chin on the kitchen counter, which requires some puppy-proofing.
She has been staying with a small dog as her foster sibling and while she is sometimes annoying, she is respectful to the cues and submissive/gentle to a dog 1/5 her size.
She gets over-excited around cats, but wouldn’t hurt a soul. If you have cats that stress easily, it’s probably not the right fit.
Bean spent time recently with a toddler and walked nice next to him, as well as gave gentle kisses. We are sure she would be lovely with kids, but dog savvy families only, due to her size and puppy awkwardness.
Bean’s ideal home would be one where she can tire out your other dog (she will always let them win), continue to learn life skills, and have an XL cuddle afterward.
